PURDUM'S HIT PIECE ON SARAH PALIN IS DISGRACEFUL!!!

June 30th, 2009
Purdum's Hit on Palin
Posted by Tom Bevan

Todd Purdum pulls down the black ski mask and whips out the sawed off shotgun for this utterly predictable hit piece on Sarah Palin in the August issue of Vanity Fair.

To be clear, there are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and the elitist MSM's contract-killer journalism against political figures with whom they disagree - which, more often than not means conservatives.

Purdum's piece is an absolute classic of the genre, complete with a slew of juicy, negative quotes from insiders and a smoothly crafted narrative that demeans and diminishes Palin's accomplishments and portrays her as an ignorant white trash whack job who stumbled her way into the governorship of Alaska through a combination of raw ambition and blind luck.

Sarah Palin is one of those rare figures who evokes acute emotions in a lot of people. I'm not one of them, so it's always been hard for me to understand why those who didn't even know her name before August 28 of last year could either fall so madly in love with her or be driven into such an absolute blind rage over her.

Even more perplexing is the MSM's continuing fascination with, and seemingly instiatible desire to destroy Sarah Palin. Why are Todd Purdum and Vanity Fair pulling out all the stops for a piece on Palin 10 months after the election? Is it because they fear she's still viable as a national political figure, or simply that a 9,800 word hit job on Palin is the kind of delicious red meat VF's readers can't resist?

Either way, there's the very real possibility that this kind of piling on Palin by the elitist MSM will actually improve her image outside the New York/DC corridor and make people in flyover country like her more, not less.

MY THOUGHTS:

I don't know about you but I am sick and tired of this constant trashing of Sarah Palin! I actually TRIED to read the whole article online of this 6 page hit piece. I couldn't get through it without throwing up so I stopped halfway through! One has to wonder WHY Governor Palin is STILL the subject of so many articles, jokes, etc. And it's always the meanest, most degrading, sexist, misognyist and always coming from an Obot. This same jerk wrote a very disparaging article about Bill Clinton during the primaries. So it proves it's not just because this author hates conservatives but because he is an OBOT. The article on Bill Clinton was definitely meant to hurt Hillary towards the end of the primaries. People like this make me sick!! And all I can say is the ONLY REASON I can possible see for WHY so many people are doing this to the Palins is to DESTROY Sarah. WHY? Because she is a THREAT to Obots. They know darn well that Sarah may just run for president in 2012. So what better way than to destroy her continuously both personally and financially with all these frivolous ethics lawsuits?

I hope and I do think that the more people read these disparaging things about Sarah will understand why and where it's coming from and it will only make people love Sarah more!!

MC CAIN CAMPAIGN TEAM STILL TRASHING SARAH!!!

Sarah Palin trashed by members of John McCain's campaign team in Vanity Fair
BY Michael Saul
DAILY NEWS POLITICAL CORRESPONDENT

Monday, June 29th 2009

That's how one longtime friend and campaign trail companion of John McCain, the vanquished 2008 GOP presidential nominee, described veep nominee Sarah Palin.

In an expansive story in the August edition of Vanity Fair, a slew of senior members of McCain's campaign team told reporter Todd S. Purdum that they suffer a kind of survivor's guilt following the 2008 presidential election.

"They can't quite believe that for two frantic months last fall, caught in a Bermuda Triangle of a campaign, they worked their tails off to try to elect as vice president of the United States someone who, by mid-October, they believed for certain was nowhere near ready for the job, and might never be," Vanity Fair reports.

During the campaign, there were reports of anonymous McCain aides describing Palin, the governor of Alaska, as a "diva" and a "whack job."

The Vanity Fair article recounts how strained Palin's relationship was with the McCain advisers. She maintained "only the barest level of civil discourse" with Tucker Eskew, the operative assigned to be her chief minder, the magazine reports.

She believed Steve Schmidt, McCain's top strategist, had lied to her about conducting polling in Alaska - that was a "belief she conveyed to anyone who would listen," the magazine reported.

As previously reported, Palin was so intent on delivering her own concession speech on Election Night that she wouldn't accept advisers telling her that McCain had decided he would be the only one to speak. She took the issue up with McCain himself, discussing it on the walk from his hotel suite to the farewell rally.

Palin did not speak on Election Night. Only McCain addressed the crowd and the nation.

One McCain aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he "always wanted to tell myself the best-case story about her."

"I think, as I've evaluated it, I think some of my worst fears…the after-election events have confirmed that her more negative aspects my have been there…."

As his voice trailed off, he said, "I saw her as a raw talent. Raw, but a talent. I hoped she could become better."

Palin refused to comment for Vanity Fair.
*****************************************************
MY THOUGHTS:

What the fuck is it with McCain's campaign staffers? WHY do they feel the NEED to TRASH Sarah Palin. It is obvious SHE is the reason that McCain got as many votes as he did. Look at the crowds that came to see Sarah compared to the number of people who came to see JUST MC CAIN. There was no comparison and no doubt that Sarah was the DRAW. Instead of TRASHING Governor Palin, they should be thanking her for making the election as close as it was!! And not for anything but 8 months have passed since the end of the election. WHAT REASON could they possibly have to destroy the Republican Party's most popular star? Perhaps it's guilt because THEY would not let Sarah be Sarah. It's always easier to pass the blame onto someone else. It's a damn shame.

WHY THE LONG FACE, JOHN KERRY??? LOL!!!!

Palin To Kerry: "Why The Long Face?"

Huffington Post
By Rachel Weiner
06-26-09

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took a shot at John Kerry when speaking to troops in Kosovo.

The Massachusetts Democrat had joked that he wished Palin had gone missing instead of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford.

"He looked quite frustrated and he looked so sad," Palin responded. "I just wanted to reach out to the TV and say, 'John Kerry, why the long face?'"
***********************************************
MY THOUGHTS:

First off, here is our Sarah visiting the troops in Kosovo. Notice how she is speaking so eloquently and clearly and there is NO TELEPROMPTER around? Imagine that! Why this woman is the butt of such degrading so-called "jokes" truly boggles my mind. WHY, of ALL the governors in the country, did John Kerry WANT SARAH to be missing? WHY is she always on the tip of their tongues and the front of their minds? Is she THAT THREATENING TO DEMOCRATS?? I guess so. But I LOVE how Sarah always can come up with a quip. Sarah has SPUNK! I LOVE spunk, especially in women! YOU GO, SARAH!!

SARAH IS MOST POPULAR GOP FIGURE WITH 73% FAVORABILITY RATING!!!

Palin Is Most Popular GOP Figure, Romney Comes In Second: Poll
Huffington Post | Susan Crile
06-24-09

Sarah Palin is the most popular figure in the GOP, according to a Pew Research Center poll released on Wednesday.

The poll surveyed leading GOP politicians' favorability among both Republicans and the general public. Palin took the lead in terms of popularity within the party, with 73% of Republicans giving her a favorable rating.

Among the general public, however, Palin was found to be a particularly polarizing figure. The Alaska governor's rating among all voters was split nearly in half: 45% favorable versus 44% unfavorable.

According to the poll, Mitt Romney is the second-most popular GOP figure. He received a 57% favorability rating among Republicans and among the general public, a 40% rating. Overall, Romney's ratings are an improvement over last year on nearly every front, meaning he's gotten more popular since his presidential bid ended.

The other GOP figures in the survey did not fare as well as Palin and Romney. Newt Gingrich had a 55% favorability rating among Republicans and a 22% unfavorable rating. Michael Steele, meanwhile, had only a 28% favorability rating. A full 58% of Republicans said they do not know enough about the RNC chairman to register an opinion.

WOMEN'S EYES HAVE BEEN OPENED NOW FOREVER!!!

June 23, 2009
As We Exhale, the Legacy of Letterman
By Amy Siskand, THE NEW AGENDA

Timing is everything. Throughout his illustrious career, David Letterman had a knack for timing the delivery of his words. Unfortunately for Letterman, his timing with the national psyche was not so fortuitous. Had he delivered those same jokes a year ago, the words would have simply vaporized into the air with roars of laughter at The Ed Sullivan Theater. Yet in June 2009, these same words will forever stain his legacy. For unbeknownst to Letterman and his "boy's club" of writers, our country was about to draw a line in the sand -- the "Letterman Limit."

The Letterman Limit is about crossing a threshold. By insulting, belittling, objectifying and jeopardizing our daughters, Letterman gave the final poke to our country's sexism slumber. And with the awakening of many, our country is embarking on a new way forward. And with this new way forward, the landscape has been forever altered.

Letterman, sadly, is the casualty of the new way forward. Sadly because before we reached the Letterman Limit, he would hardly be considered among the serial sexism offenders. Letterman's undoing came with the carefully penned words of his boy's club of writers. With the utterance of the writers' pre-scripted words, on two separate nights, Letterman began to descend in flames back down to earth. Who could imagine that his descent would unleash the tsunami of the Next Wave of "Feminism"?

While Letterman is descending, Governor Sarah Palin is seeing her star rise. Some may disagree with Governor Palin on political issues; but few will disagree that Palin is a gifted politician. And whether she had sensed the cultural shift underway, or just had incredible timing, the Letterman Limit has catapulted Palin to a new level. She somehow understood that the people of this country would have her back if she went to battle. When she spoke out to defend her daughters, millions of mothers and fathers heard their own voices.

At The New Agenda -- an organization considered by many to be the Next Wave of "feminism" -- we've been taking stock of how far the country has moved forward as we reach the Letterman Limit. Letterman's jokes would barely have registered on the "sexism richter scale" that Governor Palin and her family endured in 2008. Last fall, as a new non-partisan organization,The New Agenda spoke out, most often alone, for Governor Palin. We stood up for Palin while she or her likeness were hung in effigy, knocked unconscious, called the c-word and raped in words; and when the media questioned Palin's abilities as a mother, and launched endless attacks on her children. Back then, it would have been politically unwise for Palin to speak out. Back then, these same types of attacks were also routinely launched at Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Cindy McCain and Nancy Pelosi. Back then, this level of misogyny, sexism and double-standards were accepted practices in our culture.

But after the 2008 misogyny-fest, our culture started to shift. This cultural shift was hardly sudden nor unexpected. Many in our media speculated that a new movement was about to be born. And it was. But unlike rising stars and falling meteors, cultural shifts never occur at warp speed. Changes in our culture take root, spread slowly and grow sight unseen until something causes the roots to break through the surface.

And what caused the breakthrough was the collective outrage at these words. Our protective instincts for our daughters and granddaughters. They need our help. They are facing a crisis of being treated as sexual objects and we can no longer remain silent. Women and men from different political parties, religions, races and sexual orientations were able to join hands, unite and take collective action. Alliances were being formed all over the blogosphere.

Perhaps the most important take-away from the Letterman Limit is that the American people are no longer willing to remain silent: the Next Wave is upon us. The Next Wave is about unity and collective action and speaking out against all sexism -- be it targeted at women and girls of the right, left or center. This time the action is not on the streets where our media can conveniently film it and show it on the 5 o'clock news, which likely explains why many have such a limited understanding of the Next Wave and its impact. The Next Wave will be fought on the blogosphere with tens of thousands of protest emails and countless phone calls. Suffice it to say that major Letterman sponsors have dropped out. And Letterman apologized not once, but twice -- the second time with a message for all young women. And an entertainment executive took out a 2 page ad in the Hollywood Reporter to announce to Hollywood that Sexism Against Conservative Women is Still Sexism. The Next Wave revolution is officially underway.

We made good use of this teachable moment. Let's be ready for the next one and not wait to talk to our girls, support and protect them.

And advice to those in the national media who have become accustomed to incorporating sexism and misogyny in their daily routine -- you might want to consider finding a new line of work. Our county has officially reached the Letterman Limit!
************************************************************
MY THOUGHTS:

I always say that in life, nothing is all good or all bad. The worst situation has something good about it. It may be small and nothing compared to the worst situation but it's something. And likewise, even the best situations in life have something negative associated with it. Nothing is black and white but rather in a shade of gray.

2008 opened the eyes of many Americans. Mostly for women. For the first time in our lives and for the first time in the history of our country, we had a woman running for president that really won. She had the nomination, and ultimately the election STOLEN from her by a corrupt Democratic party that RIGGED the primaries in favor of their CHOSEN BOY, Obama. Of course, Obama's cheating and paying off superdelegates for their endorsements helped. Not to mention breaking campaign finance laws and getting money from every foreign country on the planet. Besides a media that was in the tank for Obama and actively campaigned FOR HIM, that same media, and Obama himself, used sexist and misognyistic comments about Hillary Clinton first and then Sarah Palin. It seems the Good Old Boys' Club just can't stand it to see a woman with power. It must be emasculating to them. The REAL MEN voted for Hillary in the primaries. They traveled for her and did all the things an active volunteer does. They are sure of THEIR masculinity. Not so much for Obama and mainstream media.

In so many ways, the 2008 elections were a NIGHTMARE. But it opened the eyes of women who are tired and fed up with being kept down! We're tired of being called a bitch, a witch, a cunt. We're tired of code words used which mean the same thing. Like when Obama said "periodically when Hillary gets down, she lashes out." Get it? Periodically? You don't have to search the back of your mind to catch on to that one do you? So we are FED UP. And that's why we're not gonna take it anymore!!

If we all thought Hillary got a raw deal, and God knows SHE DID, in my opinion it was nothing compared to what Sarah Palin had to go through from the second she was picked as John McCain's running mate. The DNC/Obama shit their pants with fear and Obama must have kicked his own skinny ass for not picking Hillary as his V.P. McCain was smart. And no matter what some people say, Sarah was the reason the McCain/Palin ticket got as many votes as they did. Certainly PUMAS voted for them in record numbers. Exit polls showed that 16% of people who voted for McCain would have voted for Hillary if she were the candidate.

So I hope this Letterman incident will be an eye opener to those out in the media and on late night TV, or anybody in the public arena for that matter. KEEP YOUR FUCKING MOUTH SHUT IF YOU FEEL A SEXIST REMARK COMING. IF YOU ARE A MISOGNYIST, KEEP YOUR UGLY THOUGHTS TO YOURSELF! It's 2009 and as much as the presidential election of 2008 was a nightmare, something good DID come out it. Women are no longer blinded or complacent about being called names and laughed at. IF RACISM IS WRONG, AND IT IS, THEN SO IS SEXISM AND MISOGNY. REMEMBER THAT!!!

IN TEXAS, GOV. PERRY CROWS ABOUT HIS ENDORSEMENT BY SARAH!!!

In Texas, Gov. Perry Crows About His Endorsement by Palin

06/22/0929

Facing a tough Republican primary fight next year in his bid for a third term, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas is brandishing the heavy artillery: Sarah Palin's endorsement of his campaign."If there's a bigger endorsement in the Republican universe, I don't know who it is than Sarah," he declared in a telephone interview over the weekend. He described the Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential nominee as a "close personal friend" who knows my heart."

(THIS IS THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF THE ABOVE TITLED ARTICLE ONLY IN POLITICS DAILY.)

THEY'LL DO ANYTHING TO DESTROY HER!!!

Palin spars with critics over ethics complaints
By RACHEL D'ORO

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says her political enemies are abusing state law with a flurry of frivolous ethics complaints against her, putting her more than $500,000 in legal debt.

Those filing the grievances — there have been at least 18 cases so far — say it's their legal right to hold the Republican governor accountable for what they see as abuses of power.

The truth is probably somewhere in between.

"Are Alaskans outraged, or at least tired of this yet — another frivolous ethics charge by a political blogger?" Palin asked in one statement.

Most of the complaints have been filed since last August, when GOP presidential candidate John McCain picked Palin as his running mate. And most have been denied.

Palin's office has called the multiple dismissals "mounting evidence that accusations of wrongdoing by the governor lack merit and have been politically or personally motivated."

Even some of Palin's critics question the validity of some of the complaints, and her supporters have waged a weeklong Webathon to raise money for a legal defense fund set up for the governor, ringing up more than $109,000 by day seven, Sunday.

But the number of filings may also reflect a broader awareness of ethics law in Alaska, where any citizen can send in any number of complaints. Some say they're taking Palin up on her own challenge to Alaska voters.

"She said she was going to be open, transparent and wanted people to hold her accountable," said Kim Chatman, an Eagle River resident whose complaint against Palin is among the few still pending. "I took her for her word."

All the complaints have been brought by Alaskans, except for one filed by Washington-based Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics alleging the $150,000-plus designer wardrobe the Republican Party bought to outfit Palin in her national quest violated the Federal Election Campaign Act. That complaint was dismissed.

One complaint, in which the Alaska Personnel Board found no wrongdoing, concluded with the governor agreeing to pay the state $10,000 for trips taken by her children — money that is due Tuesday.

Another complaint, filed by Democratic blogger Linda Kellen Biegel, said Palin wore a jacket that promoted the sponsor of her husband's snowmobile racing team. That complaint, dismissed June 2, prompted Palin's statement about "frivolous" ethics charges.

Elected in 2006, Palin enjoyed an unprecedented 18-month honeymoon with Alaska residents and lawmakers alike until last July, when she fired Walt Monegan, the state's popular public safety commissioner.

Monegan believed he was terminated over his refusal to let go a state trooper who was involved in a contentious divorce with Palin's sister. Palin cited budgetary disagreements.

State lawmakers investigated, ultimately concluding the governor broke an ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain, although the firing itself was considered lawful since Monegan was an at-will employee.

Days after being named McCain's running mate, Palin said the legislative probe had become too political and filed a "self disclosure" with the Alaska Personnel Board, whose three members are appointed by the governor. The day before the presidential election, that investigation concluded that Palin violated no ethics laws.

Palin was wrong to publicly criticize the complaints before the appropriate government body — the personnel board in most cases — had a chance to analyze them, said Gregg Erickson, a Juneau economist and longtime watcher of Alaska politics. That's simply bad politics, he said.

"She rises to the bait fairly quickly when they troll these things by her," he said. "I think it's a weakness."

Chatman said she voted for Palin to be governor, but now sees her as unethical, sacrificing the state's interest to advance her national ambitions. Palin is widely believed to be considering a 2012 presidential run.

Chatman's complaint alleges Palin is misusing the governor's office for personal gain by securing unwarranted benefits and receiving improper gifts through the Alaska Fund Trust, which was established by supporters in April to help Palin pay her legal bills.

Alaska law mandates that ethics grievances remain confidential unless a public accusation is filed or the accused person agrees in writing to make it public. However, most complainants have ignored this requirement and have publicly discussed their grievances without any legal consequences.

"Why is confidentiality so important? So the process does not become a forum for partisan attacks, headline seekers and disgruntled wing-nuts," Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein said in an e-mail. "This is exactly the type of political gamesmanship the confidentiality clause was intended to prevent."

Chatman said she spoke with an attorney and learned she wouldn't breach confidentiality if she talked about her grievance before filing it in late April. She said she did just that, based on a lack of trust in the Palin administration.

"I thought it would be swept under the carpet if the public didn't know about it," she said.

MY THOUGHTS:

WHY are so many people THREATENED by Governor Sarah Palin? WHY have 18 ethics complaints - all FRIVOLOUS - been filed against her since she came on the national scene? I'll tell you why. Because these people are THREATENED by her. I would say probably most, if not all, these complaints were filed by OBOTS. They are doing everything they can, including bankrupting her, to prevent her from running for president in 2012. Well, if I know anything about this barracuda from Alaska, she will not give in to them!

Sarah, don't give up and don't give in. Washington NEEDS a politician who is NOT CORRUPT. That was SUPPOSED to be Obama, but we all know that was a load of crap just to get elected. He is as filthy, dirty and corrupt as they come. And he won't even prove or disprove his very eligibility to BE president! As I said from day one, Obama is an ARROGANT, LYING FRAUD. ADD TO THAT AS A PRESIDENT HE IS A DISASTER!!!

THERE'S NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT SEXISM AND MISOGNY!!!

THERE'S NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT SEXISM AND MISOGNY!!!

Where's the Line?

David Letterman stepped over the line of decency with his remarks about Governor Palin's daughter. It's easy to say it's the liberal media attacking a Republican woman. The truth is, the media attacks any woman in this country who stands above the crowd– Sarah Palin, Nancy Pelosi, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton or Cindy McCain.

The 2008 election year brought out the worst from both political ends of the media and reminded us sexism is still alive and well in America. Produced by the co-founder of
The New Agenda, Where's the Line? reminds us just how ugly the media treated women during that 2008 election year.

Democrat or Republican, we can't just shrug it off when the joke's on a woman of the other political party. There is nothing funny about sexism.

Lyn Harris, DMS

MY THOUGHTS:

Whenever someone, mostly men are the culprits but women are to blame, too, says something downgrading and sexist about a woman, it is accepted. It's laughed at. Even if that woman just happens to be the first viable woman running for the presidency or vice presidency of our country. You would NEVER hear the same kind of comments from men. NEVER. And where sexism and misogny vs. racial is concerned, no one would ever be allowed to get away with a blatant RACIST comment. Just look at Imus. When he made that "joke" about nappy headed hoes" he was FIRED. When David Letterman made his one millionith joke about Sarah Palin and her daughters, it was a big joke. Even his so-called first apology, which wasn't an apology at all but just more jokes, were hysterical to the people in the audience. He milked his vile, disgusting comments for all he could. It was not until sponsors started pulling their ads from his show, that he offered a real apology. Time will tell if he will revert back to the jokes again!

GREAT!! NOW OLIVE GARDEN HAS PULLED THEIR ADS FROM LETTERMAN'S SHOW!!!

Olive Garden pulls Letterman ads
ANDY BARR | 6/18/09
POLITICO

Following a week of back and forth between CBS late night comic David Letterman and Sarah Palin over a crude joke he told about the Alaska Republican governor’s daughter, the Olive Garden restaurant says it is cancelling all of its scheduled ads on Letterman’s “Late Show” for the rest of the year.

In an email to a Letterman critic obtained by POLITICO, a spokeswoman for the Italian restaurant chain wrote that “there will be no more Olive Garden ads scheduled for ‘The Late Show’ with David Letterman in this year's broadcast schedule,” citing the talk show host’s “inappropriate comments.”

“We apologize that Mr. Letterman’s mistake, which was not consistent with our standards and values, left you with a bad impression of Olive Garden,” wrote Sherri Bruen, the company’s guest relations manager.

Bruen said the company “screens network television programs whenever possible,” but explained that “telecasts, such as ‘The Late Show’ with David Letterman, are taped on a daily basis, preventing advertisers from reviewing the content prior to airing.”

A spokesman for the company confirmed Thursday that for now it has cancelled all its remaining scheduled ads on the CBS program for the rest of the year.

Conservative radio host John Ziegler, who previously interviewed Palin for his film “Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted,” organized a lightly attended protest Tuesday outside the “Late Show” studio.

Ziegler has listed contact information for 14 advertisers on Letterman’s show, including Olive Garden, on his website dedicated to the comedian’s firing. He called the news an “obvious victory” but vowed to continue “our quest for some sense of accountability for Letterman in this matter.”

Letterman has apologized for his comment last week about Palin’s daughter getting “knocked up by Alex Rodriguez” during the governor’s recent visit to a Yankees baseball game. Palin attended the game as part of a trip to New York.

“I told a joke that was beyond flawed, and my intent is completely meaningless compared to the perception,” Letterman said. “And since it was a joke I told, I feel that I need to do the right thing here and apologize for having told that joke.”

After repeatedly blasting the late night comic in statements and interviews last week, Palin accepted Letterman’s apology on Tuesday.

“Letterman certainly has the right to ‘joke’ about whatever he wants to, and thankfully we have the right to express our reaction,” she said in a statement.

THE LATEST BLOOD SPORT: ATTACKING CONSERVATIVE WOMEN.

June 16th, 2009
ANDREA TANTAROS: The Latest Media Blood Sport — Attacking Conservative Women
By Andrea Tantaros
Republican Political Commentator/FOXNews.com Contributor

A growing trend seems to be emerging. From Perez Hilton to Playboy’s “Conservative Women Hate List” to David Letterman’s lewd comments about Sarah Palin, it appears that attacking women – specifically conservative women – is not only all the rage, but oddly, acceptable.

The more acceptable it becomes to express violent, crass language against women in the public arena the more you can expect our country to fray at the seams.

I’m not talking about attacks from bottom feeder leftist blogs either. Notable mainstream brands like the Miss USA Organization, “The Late Show” and Playboy magazine have all lost their sense of humor and their sense of decency by allowing conservative women to become a punching bag — and a punch line — for the left. Forgoing all boundaries, a party that once used to claim to own the violence against women issue has embraced it and let their politics run them when it comes to the issue of misogyny.

On its face, this isn’t even a political issue. It’s a women’s issue –- a human issue that transcends politics. But why, when it comes to the most serious and sensitive attacks against women the National Organization for Women spokeswoman warrants a missing person’s report?

Carrie Prejean was called the most offensive four and five letter words by Miss USA judge Perez Hilton’s after she expressed her traditional views on gay marriage. Was he scolded by one of the organization’s owners, Donald Trump? Hardly. Trump actually expressed willingness to allow Hilton to judge at next year’s competition.

And that’s just the beginning. Playboy magazine published a vile, incendiary list of conservative women it would like to engage in hate sex with, and it was only after public outcry that it pulled the article. Its response was watered down, to say the least. Where was that writer’s editor? (And that editor’s mind, moreover?) It doesn’t take an expert to know that the first stage of violence is thinking about it, then expressing it, then actually doing it.

David Letterman made a disgusting joke about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s underage daughter and he didn’t stop there. He continued to make an off color joke about the Governor’s appearance making many want to invoke slaps but not against their knees.

Palin is apparently more popular than Letterman. Thanks to growing pressure from viewers Letterman offered — not one — but two — mea culpas. But where was CBS from the start? It was only after the public got involved that the comedian began to react with some seeming sincerity.

For the record, Palin should never appear on his show. Protests calling for his resignation should continue with a larger message to the general population and television executives everywhere: distasteful behavior against females will not be tolerated.

The United States, a champion for women’s rights throughout the world, will have a tough time wagging it’s finger at countries that are less than progressive in their attitudes toward women and crimes against women all over the world when we tolerate hate speak at the expense of the American female, for a few laughs or fame, no less.

The First Amendment protects free speech but there is no reason that we, as citizens and consumers, should buy it. When it comes to those who want to disrespect any woman, we can take it to their bottom line and not only speak out, but also boycott their business.

Violence against women is wrong, no matter what party affiliation, not to mention it’s just not funny. The more acceptable it becomes to express violent, crass language against women in the public arena the more you can expect our country to fray at the seams.

REAL TIME: REAL MAN: MAHER TAKES HIS SHOT AT PALIN

REAL TIME: REAL MAN: MAHER TAKES HIS SHOT AT PALIN
By Jimmy Arone

Here we go again.

During his opening monologue on ‘Real Time’ Friday night, Bill Maher, couldn’t resist piling on to the David Letterman controversy and the sex jokes made by him earlier in the week regarding Sarah Palin’s daughter.

In defending his friend, Maher thought Republicans had over reacted and this was just a case of ‘fake’ outrage. Much ado about nothing. He then went on talking about how Letterman had invited Sarah Palin and her young daughter, Willow, to appear as guests on his show but the Governor declined because she thought it would be wise to keep her daughter away from him. Said Maher, “…that’s right, he’s 62 years old, he’s gonna fuck her right there on stage…it would be very wise to keep her, very wise, yes. You know, I’d worry a little more about the 18-year old hockey players who knock up your daughters.” To which his audience of trained seals laughed and clapped and had a good old time.

I sat there stunned. Much like his pal Letterman, as far as I was concerned, Maher had crossed the line. Big Time.

What is it with these guys?

For some strange reason, the Palin family continues to be a source of comedic gold despite the fact that Sarah Palin is Governor of Alaska. Can you imagine the side-splitting laughs we would’ve been able to enjoy had she been elected as our first female vice-president? Damn! Maher and Letterman would have ‘killed’ day in, day out. Their adoring audiences would have been carried out of the theatre on stretchers. “Somebody call the comedy ambulance for the love of Mike! Dave did it again!”

According to Bill Maher, these jokes are ‘harmless.’ Women of NOW are you listening?

Remember when Don Imus was canned in 2007 for his comments made in reference to the Rutgers women’s basketball team? The outrage from the usual suspects and others was a bit more ‘real.’ He was called a racist and a sexist. He was forced to apologize for his lame attempt at humor and sent on his merry way by the powers that be.

No such luck with Bill and Dave. Harmless. Yeah, right.

Isn’t it interesting?…depending upon who is telling ‘the joke’ and who is the subject of ‘the joke’ there seems to be an inconsistency of just how ‘real’ or how ‘fake’ the outrage is when dealing with those oh so tolerant souls on the left.

What’s up with that?

We all know the answer. For Bill Maher and David Letterman, no harm, no foul because the Palin family deserves it. They asked for it because Sarah Palin is who she is. An authentic, decent woman who became the governor of a state and last year accepted an invitation from Sen. John McCain to join him as his running mate for vice-president.

The fact that the Palin’s are conservative doesn’t have -a- thing- to- do- with- it. In the upside/down world which we now live, the Palin’s and their kids seem fair game to some on the left. WTF!?

One man’s free speech is another man’s hate speech. One man’s outrage is another man’s ‘fake’ outrage. At least it is if you worship at the altar of Leftism.

As a father and a husband, I can tell you this much, my outrage is friggin’ real. For Todd and Sarah Palin. For their daughters, Bristol and Willow. For their family and those who love them. For my wife. For my daughter. Nothing fake about it at all, Billy boy.

Enough is enough.

Time for action. Saturday, my wife and I canceled our HBO service. A big thank you to Bill Maher. If there are others out there who have had enough of his brand of comedy, I suggest you take some action. Make a phone call to your service provider, let them know how you feel. You need to hit back. Hit ‘em hard where they understand it most, in the wallet. For some odd reason, that seems to get their collective attention. Money. Honey.

In closing, it’s good to see the National Organization for Women and other women’s groups speaking out on the Letterman issue. As I mentioned earlier, hopefully, feminists are watching, listening and take notice of Maher’s Friday night performance and his stab at humor regarding the Palin girls. Harmless? You be the judge.

As for Bill and his friend Dave, if they want to get back to the high road and make amends for the hurt they’ve caused the Palin family, I have a few suggestions:

Apologize. Sincerely apologize. Stop with the jokes concerning the Palin’s daughters. Millions of young women and their families will be watching; listening.

And if by some slim chance our pseudo heroes punk out, I suggest women and the men who love them, petition our state department to send Bill and Dave on an excellent adventure. Swap these two clown kings for American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee currently being held prisoners on some BS charge of illegally entering the armpit which is, North Korea.

That way, everybody wins.

MY THOUGHTS:

What the fuck is going on with this crazy world anyway? Letterman FINALLY offers what appeared to be a sincere apology, and now this JERK, Bill Maher, has to put his two cents in to add fuel to the fire. When will it end? When will men (and women, too) stop thinking it is funny to make sexist and misognyistic 'jokes' about women and girls? It is disgusting! And for some strange reason, Sarah Palin has ignited a fire in the belly of these sexist pigs who think she and her family are good material for their sick, vile, vulgar comments and attitudes. Just when you take one step forward, some other jerk makes you take two steps back. Unfreakingbelievable.

Letterman Apologizes — Again — to Governor Palin and Her Family
By Bill Carter

David Letterman directly apologized to Gov. Sarah Palin and her daughters on his program Monday night, saying he took responsibility for a joke that had offended Ms. Palin, her family, and her supporters.

Mr. Letterman opened the desk portion of his show with the apology in which he said he wanted to say he was sorry to “to the two daughters involved, Bristol and Willow, and also to the governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke.” Two weeks ago on his “Late Show” program on CBS, he had joked about Governor Palin attending a Yankee game with her daughter.

The joke, in which Mr. Letterman seemingly confused Willow, who is 14 and attended a Yankee game with Gov. Palin that week, with Bristol, who is 18 and an unwed mother, had to do with the Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez impregnating Ms. Palin’s daughter.

Last week Mr. Letterman somewhat defiantly said that there was a misperception going on and he would never make a sexually charged joke about a 14-year old. But he never expressly explained that he had inadvertently confused the two Palin daughters.

Monday he acknowledged that as the host of the program it was his responsibility to get the joke right. “I told a joke that was beyond flawed, and my intent is completely meaningless compared to the perception.”

He also insisted he was confused about the daughters. “I was told at the time she was there with Rudy Guiliani,” Mr. Letterman said. “I should have made the joke about Rudy.”

The issue has been seized upon by supporters of Ms. Palin who have called for everything from a boycott of Mr. Letterman’s advertisers to his outright firing. They have planned a rally for the Tuesday at Mr. Letterman’s theater on Broadway in Manhattan.

Some media commentators said that Mr. Letterman was keeping the controversy alive for the sake of ratings, but he seemed to make a special effort Monday to get the apology right. He even taped it a second time after he mistakenly referred to Bristol Palin once as “Brooke” in the first effort.

CBS executives said Monday that they had exercised no pressure on the late-night star to offer any apology and that they had seen no real impact on advertisers from the protests.

One advertiser, Embassy Suites Hotels, sent word to Ms. Palin’s supporters that they had ceased advertising on CBS’s website and did not want to be associated in any way with Mr. Letterman’s comments.
**********************************************************************
MY THOUGHTS:

It took 10 thousand e-mails, not to mention tons of phone calls, to Letterman's office, CBS, advertisers, etc. from PumaPac ALONE. But FINALLY, apparently Letterman did apologize. Perhaps it was the fear of the rally tomorrow and worrying about getting fired that made him finally wise up. BUT does this mean he will NOT do this again? Will be FINALLY leave the Palin family ALONE? I guess time will tell.

PALIN POWER!!! SARAH, DON'T LET THEM GET YOU DOWN!!!

Palin power
She's drawing big crowds and ignoring the D.C. cognoscenti
Sunday, June 14, 2009
By Jack Kelly, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

President Barack Obama is, by far, the most popular politician in America. And there is little doubt who is No. 2.

The city of Auburn in upstate New York, population 28,574, held its first annual Founder's Day celebration June 6. The most famous of the city's fathers is William Seward, who as secretary of state purchased Alaska from Russia in 1867. To commemorate the event, the city council invited the current governor of Alaska. The parade featuring Sarah Palin drew more than 20,000 people, according to press reports.

The next day Ms. Palin traveled to Long Island to speak at a fund-raiser for a charity which aids the developmentally disabled. Before that, she and her daughter, Willow, attended a New York Yankees game at the invitation of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

The day after that, Ms. Palin took part in a fund-raiser in Washington, D.C., for House and Senate Republicans at which former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was the keynote speaker.

"An attempt to have the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate speak at the dinner ... fell through when organizers feared she might upstage Gingrich," UPI reported.

It was a rare trip outside of Alaska for Ms. Palin, who since the election has been tending to her day job, and it produced plenty of snotty commentary.

Much of it came from "GOP insiders" in Washington who speak anonymously to journalists.

"Everyone seems to have a Sarah Palin story of ignored calls, mishandled invitations or unanswered e-mail," wrote columnist Kathleen Parker, who was severely critical of Ms. Palin last fall.

The subtext of Ms. Parker's column is that her anonymous confidantes are upset with Ms. Palin because she has not hired them to work on a presidential campaign she has not begun.

This presupposes both that Ms. Palin wants to run for president in 2012, and that if she does, it would be wise for her to start now.

Both are dubious assumptions. Ms. Palin may wish to do the best job she can as governor, and to decide whether or not to seek re-election next year before deciding if she wants to run for president in 2012, 2016 or ever.

If Sarah Palin decides she's had her fill of public life, it could be because of the attention her visit drew from the likes of "comedian" David Letterman.

In his monologue Monday, Mr. Letterman "joked" about Ms. Palin's "slutty flight-attendant look," and made two awful jokes about her daughter, one implying she'd had sex with Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez, the other that she'd been a prostitute for former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

"Laughter incited by sexually perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/New York entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands -- that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contribute to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others," Ms. Palin responded when asked for comment.

That many liberals found Mr. Letterman's remarks humorous speaks not only to their depravity, but to their fear. The 20,000 who turned out to see Ms. Palin in Auburn testify to the fact that she strikes a responsive chord with ordinary people no other Republican does.

Liberals and some Beltway conservatives assert Ms. Palin is stupid. She frequently is misquoted -- most recently by Dan Balz in The Washington Post Wednesday -- to make her appear so.

But I'd say she got the better of it in her exchange with David Letterman. And her brief walk across the stage at the GOP dinner Monday drew more attention than Mr. Gingrich's stem-winding speech. For someone who, according to the Washington cognoscenti, doesn't know what she's doing, she's doing pretty well.

I don't think Sarah Palin has decided whether she'd like to live in the White House. But if she does, ignoring the conventional wisdom in Washington may be the best way to get there.
*******************************************************************
MY COMMENTS:

It's sexist and misognyist jokes that David Letterman and others are always delivering where Governor Sarah Palin is concerned is because they are so afraid of her. That's the REASON for the vile remarks and distorted comments the liberal media are continually attributing to this talented and gifted woman who is the governor of one of our 50 states!

Those who put her down regularly are FEARFUL that as they put it "she's not going away." They thought after the election, when they breathed a sigh of relief that their SELECTED candidate got in, they wouldn't have to worry about the lady politician from Alaska anymore. They KNOW she is very popular with not only a huge portion of the Republican population but a lot of PUMAS are in favor of her (myself included!) and we've got her back!

Sarah, DO NOT LET THE JACKASSES RUN YOU OFF!! Oh how much more easy this country would be now if you and McCain were in the White House. Please run in 2012!! We NEED a smart person who is NOT CORRUPT. We need someone who is fresh and unspoiled. We need a REAL person who understands what Americans are going through. And that candidate, Sarah, is YOU!!

Fmr. Mass. Governor Swift on the Palin/Letterman Feud
By On the Record

VAN SUSTEREN: So where is the feminist outrage over this? We called "MS" magazine. They had no comment. We asked the National Organization for Women to send someone to appear on our show. They declined but then added Letterman to its Web site's "Media Hall of Shame." But is this enough?

Joining us live is Jane Swift, the former governor of Massachusetts. She is the first woman to ever hold that office. Good evening, Governor.

JANE SWIFT, FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOVERNOR: Good evening, Greta. How are you?

VAN SUSTEREN: Very well. Governor, let's start first with David Letterman. At least the way I listen to him, he seems to think it's OK what he said if he were talking about an 18-year-old instead of a 14-year- old. Yes or no?

SWIFT: No. I think Barbara Walters had it right. And apparently, the politics of personal destruction has now morphed into the politics of family destruction. And what kind of people are going to run for political office, men or women? Although this seems to happen more to women. What kind of women are going to run for leadership positions if this is how they can expect their minor children to be treated?

VAN SUSTEREN: Where are the feminists? And I'm a feminist. I have defended Secretary of State Clinton, Governor Palin from personal insults, not on policy. They're fair game for policy. But where are all the feminists in their outrage? Is it because this is the child of a Republican?

SWIFT: You know, who knows what it has to do with party politics, although I think Rush Limbaugh should get credit for standing up for a common standard of decency, and I doubt there are many liberals who will recognize that. But the truth is, it's wrong. It was a bad joke. David Letterman maybe should go back to his "Stupid Pet Tricks."

And I think the other thing people are missing is this isn't, like, an unscripted moment. This is a joke that's written beforehand and that he chose to deliver. And I think that carries with it a special responsibility versus perhaps just saying something that you later regret. And in terms of an apology, this is what constitutes an apology, "I'm sorry."

VAN SUSTEREN: You know what I found interesting about it is that he made -- and I took notes on it. He said that -- something that -- about the fact that she was knocked up by the Yankee. And incidentally, it was the 14-year-old that was there at the Yankee game, not the 18-year-old, although I don't think that makes any difference. But he said, "knocked up," and used that as rape and making fun of the 18-year-old, when the irony of it is, is that the mother of his child was, quote, "knocked up" and he didn't marry her until last March, when the child was about 5 or 6, so he's the worst hypocrite on this.

SWIFT: Well, and violence against women is never funny. And so saying things like somebody being knocked up or raped, particularly when you're using those words to try to so-called apologize or regret what you said, it's just not appropriate. None of us would want anybody to say that about our children and none of us would tolerate it.

VAN SUSTEREN: Imus -- Don Imus said horrible things about that basketball team, that women's college basketball team, it was at Rutgers, which was terrible. And there was an unbelievable public outcry, as there should have been, as there was. Where -- is this going to happen with CBS? Is CBS going to get it, or do you think they're just going to let him off the hook? Oh, I thought it was an 18-year-old and it's OK to say those things about 18-year-old women.

SWIFT: Well, you know what, Greta? Thanks to you and to "The View" today, to give them credit, hopefully, the popular opinion will come to bring to the attention of CBS, and you know, to David Letterman, who I'm sure is a -- you know, a decent person, that what he said was wrong. An apology is warranted and he probably needs some new joke writers.

VAN SUSTEREN: But he -- it's funny. It's, like, you know, he had his chance to give his apology. You know, I'm not sure he really gets it because he was dripping with sarcasm. And I was dripping with sarcasm when I started the show. But he says that -- you know, he thinks it's OK because it's 18. I don't think he gets it, so I wonder if CBS gets it.

SWIFT: Well, hopefully, enough voices will speak out so that they get it. This is not about whether or not she's -- first of all, it's not about whether she's 18 or 14. It's about family members shouldn't be subjected to this kind of vulgar discussion of their private lives. That's number one.

Number two, if that crosses the line, which I believe and I think many decent people believe it does, it was clear that the person who was there was her 14-year-old daughter. And again, the Imus show is unscripted, right? Imus said something probably in the heat of the moment that he has apologized for, he has made amends for. He went and met in a private setting with those young women and got to hear from them how that hurt them. I don't think that that's the kind of that David Letterman has gotten to and that he needs to understand.

And when something's a written joke, somebody could have figured out that it was a 14-year-old girl. And since when is it a criminal offense to sit with your mother at a baseball game when you're a 14-year-old girl? In fact, to me, that's a pretty nice thing.

VAN SUSTEREN: And to repeat, because I know some people are going to disagree with me, but I want to repeat I'm a feminist and I think women candidates for office and women in office should get aggressive grilling by the public but that it should be fair, never go into sexism and certainly not pick on the children. And David Letterman, I really don't think, gets it and I hope CBS at least does something. Governor, thank you.

SWIFT: Happy birthday -- belated.

VAN SUSTEREN: Thank you very much!

WHY DON'T WOMEN'S GROUPS DEFEND CONSERVATIVE WOMEN AGAINST MISOGNY??

Did David Letterman get a free pass?
By Amanda Fortini
SALON

If there was any question that a stubborn strain of old-school sexism persists in Obama's America, one has only to look at certain leaders of what the right wing loves to call the "liberal media" but which is sounding and acting, recently, more like the frat-house media. There, like a virus hiding in the body before, perhaps, staging a comeback, misogyny has found a place to lurk almost undetected, at least by the usually sharp eyes of progressive feminists.

"Slutty flight attendant" is not just a sexual put-down; it's a socioeconomic one.
Examine the symptoms of this infection, beginning with David Letterman's comments (widely noted but insufficiently analyzed) about Sarah Palin "buying makeup at Bloomingdale's to update her slutty flight attendant look," as well as his joke about Palin's teenage daughter: "Sarah Palin went to a Yankees Game yesterday … during the seventh inning stretch, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez." (Letterman insists he was talking about her 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, who actually had been, well, knocked up, not her 14-year-old, Willow, the daughter who attended the game.) A week before these remarks aired, there was an uglier outbreak of the contagion in the pages of Playboy -- never a bastion of egalitarian forward thinking, but still -- where writer Guy Cimbalo published a list of 10 conservative women he'd like to "hate fuck," a term that various observers interpreted as rough sex, sex tinged by rage, or rape. (Gabe Winant wrote for Broadsheet about the "Hate Fuck" story, which has since been yanked by Playboy.) Worse than the violence of the general sentiment was the graphic specificity of the "Hate Fuck Rating" appended to each woman -- a list that included Michelle Malkin, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Dana Perino and Laura Ingraham. On Hasslebeck: "You'd be better served sucking off Regis Philbin." On Malkin: "Worse than fucking Eva Braun."

Both cases were met with a tepid response from the left. Though Letterman apologized on Wednesday’s show (see video below), his tone was mock-serious, and his audience chuckled along.

Imagine if, say, Michelle Obama, or Rachel Maddow, or Nancy Pelosi became the target of similar invective. The outcry from the left would be deafening. Shouldn’t liberals exhibit the same sort of decorous treatment we demand for ourselves? Sexist comments like Letterman’s and Cimbalo’s also evoke a troublingly insular, clubhouse atmosphere in lieu of an inclusive political party. What's more, the gender-based stereotypes they conjure are as stale and ignorant as any voiced by the old Neanderthal right: Pretty women are de facto stupid, sexually promiscuous and low-class. Indeed, it's the latter slight that has been least remarked upon and is, perhaps, the most disturbing. “Slutty flight attendant” is not just a sexual put-down; it's a socioeconomic one. Likewise, when Cimbalo says, of right-wing blogger Pamela Geller, "Even a Silkwood shower won't get rid of the stench of Fascist divorcee and Elizabeth Arden's Red Door," the classist sentiment is unmistakable. It's a combination of gutter misogyny and snobbery, a return to a 1950s kind of insult. This is like saying a woman has a "reputation," that she's "that kind of girl," one from "the wrong side of the tracks." Cimbalo seems to be holding his nose not at the smell of some supposedly déclassé perfume but at the stench of working for a living, of being middle-class or having middle-class tastes.

And what's the problem with sexy women, anyway? The facile answer is to say that female sexuality is threatening in some visceral, primitive way. But maybe the deeper fact is that pretty women remind us that the world is essentially unfair -- and if the world is unfair, then the progressive quest for fairness may be quixotic and unnatural. There is no more free market economy than your average singles bar. In any case, stern conservative strength in a woman has undone the left for ages: See Margaret Thatcher. Liberals would probably contend that these women present much to argue with, propounding odious views with real-world implications -- they do, they do -- but why not attack their ideas rather than insult them? Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh incite their share of leftist rage, but I have yet to hear Gingrich maligned as a bimbo, or Limbaugh as a slut (just a "big fat idiot," to borrow a phrase from Al Franken, an impersonal and genderless slight). Partly, of course, this is because no such terms exist for men -- another digression entirely.

Asking why it is that liberal women do not often take liberal men to task for these attitudes is well worthwhile. Maybe we don't want to appear shrill and humorless, unable to take a joke. Or maybe it's thought that conservative women are too ideologically reprehensible to merit a defense. But to challenge this kind of sexist talk is not the same thing as agreeing with a woman's politics. If the left is allowed to remain a refuge for this sort of misogyny, if this virus in the body politic is allowed to flourish, then it is likely only a matter of time before it is once again directed at liberal women who are threatening in some way, as happened to Hillary Clinton. Call Pamela Geller racist for her anti-Islamic views, but leave her "top-heavy frame" aside.

LETTERMAN SHOULD APOLOGIZE AND THEN STOP WITH THE SEXIST COMMENTS!!

MARK JOSEPH: Time for David Letterman to Dust Off an Old Apology
By Mark Joseph

This isn’t the first time David Letterman has crossed the boundaries of good taste and been needlessly crude and demeaning to women, and it probably won’t be the last. He’s been doing it for years, only he used to recognize it himself and make amends quickly.

In 1999, a band that I worked with for many years, Sixpence None The Richer, appeared on Letterman’s couch, and its very married and very sweet lead singer Leigh Nash was asked by the host to explain the meaning behind the band’s name. As the visibly nervous and anxious Nash attempted to explain, Letterman interrupted: “Are you staying in town?” When she hesitated, unsure where the question was leading, he continued, “Could I drop by the hotel?”

Leigh didn’t demand an apology, but her sweet and innocent response as she looked behind the couch to her bandmates for help and then shyly looked back at Letterman spoke volumes and shamed the talk show host into responding: “I’m being needlessly coarse. I’m sorry.”

Palin may be overplaying her hand a bit by insinuating that Letterman can’t be trusted to be near her 14-year old, but Letterman needs to stop with the smart-aleck explanations and offer the same apology to Willow Palin and her family that he once offered to another sweet, young woman a decade ago: “I’m being needlessly coarse. I’m sorry.”

I AGREE LETTERMAN'S SORRY ASS SHOULD BE FIRED NOW!!!!

New York Lawmaker Calls on CBS to Fire Letterman for Palin Comments
Friday, June 12, 2009

David Letterman is under fire for crude jokes about Palin's teenage daughter.
New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, a Republican, is calling on the CEO of CBS to fire David Letterman for crude comments he made about Sarah Palin and her daughter.

In the letter to CBS chief Les Moonves, Kolb said he took Letterman to task for the "shockingly inappropriate" jokes.

“As the proud father of a daughter, and as a husband, I wanted Mr. Moonves to hear from me directly about Mr. Letterman’s disparaging remarks," Kolb said in a written statement.

“Firing Mr. Letterman would send a clear message that CBS will not tolerate any of its employees — even an established media figure like Mr. Letterman — making demeaning and degrading comments about women.”

The request came after the late-night host stopped short of apologizing for "jokes" he had made about Palin, the former Republican vice presidential nominee, and her family, including one that referred to her daughter being "knocked up" by New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

"We were, as we often do, making jokes about people in the news, and we made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter, the 18-year-old girl, who is — her name is Bristol, that’s right, and so, then, now they’re upset with me," Letterman said.

"These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl. I mean, look at my record. It has never happened. I don’t think it’s funny. I would never think it was funny. I wouldn’t put it in a joke."

The host later invited Palin and her husband to appear on “The Late Show,” a request they vehemently rejected.

"The Palins have no intention of providing a rating's boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show," the Alaska governor's office said in a written statement Thursday. "Plus, it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman."

On Friday, the Alaska governor said Letterman owes an apology to young women across the country for the joke.

"I would like to see him apologize to young women across the country for contributing to kind of that thread that is throughout our culture that makes it sound like it is OK to talk about young girls in that way — where it's kind of OK, accepted and funny to talk about statutory rape," she said. "It's not cool. It's not funny."

Palin said Friday that it was time for people to rise up against Letterman's form of humor.

"No wonder young girls especially have such low self-esteem in America when we think it's funny for a so-called comedian to get away with such a remark as he did," she said. "I don't think that's acceptable."

“The Late Show” did not respond to a request for comment Friday.

But the controversy may wind up giving both Palin and Letterman attention at a time both could use it. Palin is considered a potential future candidate for national office, and standing up for her family could make her a hero to her fans. Letterman is in the second week of his new competition with NBC's Conan O'Brien, and the two are running neck-and-neck in the ratings.

On his show Thursday, Letterman joked that Palin had called to invite him on a hunting trip — the punch line no doubt a reference to former Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shooting a friend while hunting.

His other references to the controversy were more oblique. When guest Denzel Washington said he would get in trouble with Obama for making a joke about the president's big ears, Letterman clearly had something else on his mind.

"You aren't in the kind of trouble I'm in," he said.

FOXNews.com's Allison McGevna and the Associated Press contributed to this report.

BRENT BOZWELL SPEAKS TO MEGYN KELLY REGARDING JACKASS LETTERMAN AND HIS ATTACKS ON THE PALIN FAMILY!!!!

NOW COMES OUT TO DEFEND THE PALINS: LETTERMAN IS IN THE MEDIA HALL OF SHAME!!!

Letterman "Jokes" About Palin's Daughter
Offender: David Letterman on "Late Show with David Letterman"

Media Outlet: CBS, aired 6/8/09

The Offense: Late night TV host David Letterman "joked" that during their recent trip to New York, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter "was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez" during a Yankees baseball game. The next night Letterman said that the hardest part of Palin's trip was "keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter."

NOW Analysis: After two nights of "jokes" at the expense of Palin and her family, Letterman tried to explain himself and offer something of an apology. On his June 10 show, Letterman said he was referring to Palin's 18-year-old daughter, Bristol -- not the 14-year-old daughter who actually accompanied Palin on her New York trip. Letterman said "I recognize that these are ugly" jokes. NOW agrees. Comedians in search of a laugh should really know better than to snicker about men having sex with teenage girls (or young women) less than half their age.

The sexualization of girls and women in the media is reaching new lows these days -- it is exploitative and has a negative effect on how all women and girls are perceived and how they view themselves. Letterman also joked about what he called Palin's "slutty flight attendant look" -- yet another example of how the media love to focus on a woman politician's appearance, especially as it relates to her sexual appeal to men. Someone of Letterman's stature, who appears on what used to be known as "the Tiffany Network" (CBS), should be above wallowing in the juvenile, sexist mud that other comedians and broadcasters seem to prefer.

On that point, it's important to note that when Chelsea Clinton was 13 years old she was the target of numerous insults based on her appearance. Rush Limbaugh even referred to her as the "White House dog." NOW hopes that all the conservatives who are fired up about sexism in the media lately will join us in calling out sexism when it is directed at women who aren't professed conservatives.

Take Action: Write to CBS and tell them what you think.

WONDERFUL, INSIGHTFUL LETTER FROM MICHELLE MALKIN TO LETTERMAN.

June 12, 2009
Dear David Letterman
By Michelle Malkin

Will you teach your son to talk about women and girls the way you talk about Sarah Palin and her daughters?

You called the married 45-year-old mother, grandmother and Alaska governor a "slutty flight attendant" on your national TV talk show because she happens to be a tall, beautiful and dynamic public figure who doesn't look, walk or talk the way you think she should.

You joked on national television about Palin's teenage daughter "getting knocked up" by professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez or solicited by the prostitute-addicted former New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer because it's acceptable in your social and professional circles to sneer at the children of politicians you despise.

You admitted that your attacks on Palin's family were in "poor taste," but cackled while acknowledging your sophomoric judgment.

You expressed moral indignation at being misconstrued, yet you purposely omitted the name of the daughter you were mocking.

Fourteen-year-old Willow Palin was the daughter who accompanied Gov. Palin on her trip this week, not 18-year-old Bristol Palin, whom you now claim was the target of your feckless smear -- a smear you still insist is perfectly defensible. Look at yourself, Dave. Look at how lame your excuse-making was on your Wednesday night show:

"These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl. I mean, look at my record. It has never happened. I don't think it's funny. I would never think it was funny. I wouldn't put it in a joke..."

Tell us, great comic genius, how tacking on four years to the target daughter makes it funny? We unenlightened dim bulbs who live outside of Manhattan's boundaries don't get the joke.

Will you be able to explain it to your son?

Face it: David Letterman, late-night entertainer turned partisan hack and hit man, has a deranged obsession with Palin and her family that has crossed into rank bigotry and hatred. If the CBS network cares about basic standards of decency on public airwaves and if it cares at all about bolstering its shrinking audience, the network honchos will get Letterman a therapist pronto.

Over the past year, Letterman has displayed his sexist, elitist stripes in jibe after jibe aimed at Palin. Taken cumulatively, Letterman's mockery is about much more than expressing contempt for the popular GOP governor. It's a handy device to deride a broad class of working-class and middle-class women he holds in contempt:

"You know, she reminds me, she looks like the flight attendant who won't give you a second can of Pepsi. No, you've had enough. We're landing. Looks like the waitress at the coffee shop who draws a little smiley face on your check. Have a nice day."

"She looks like the dip sample lady at Safeway. She looks like the nurse who weighs you and then makes you sit alone in your underwear for 20 minutes. She looks like the Olive Garden hostess who says, 'I'm sorry, your table isn't ready yet.' She looks like the infomercial lady who says she made $64,000 a month flipping condos."

"She looks like the lady at the bakery who yells out '44! 45!' She looks like a real estate agent whose picture you see on the bus stop bench. That's who she looks like. She looks like the lady who has a chain of cupcake stores."

In November 2008, Letterman told tanking CBS News anchor Katie Couric that he was "aroused" by Palin. In March 2009, Letterman attacked Bristol and snickered about her being "knocked up" again.

Letterman reminds me of the lecher at the school bus stop. Or the aging creep lurking in the dirty magazine section at the 7-Eleven.

Attention, CBS: Get him help now.

SARAH ON "TODAY SHOW" - 6/12/09

Governor Palin was on "The Today Show" this morning speaking on a number of issues including the continuing saga of the disgusting, vulgar comments made by David Letterman three nights ago. Women have become FURIOUS with Letterman. Not only did he have such poor taste to make the disgusting comments which he passed off as "jokes", but instead of apologizing, he has continued talking about it for three nights running - using it as a way to garner more laughs. And WHY the morons in his audience think this is so funny says a lot about the American people today and maybe WHY women are still treated as second class citizens.

WOMEN'S ADVOCACY GROUP BLASTS LETTERMAN'S JOKES ABOUT SARAH. CALLS FOR APOLOGY!!

Women's Advocacy Group Leader Blasts Letterman's Jokes About Palin, Calls for Apology
Thursday, June 11, 2009
By Joshua Rhett Miller

David Letterman is under fire for crude jokes about Palin's teenage daughter.
The president of a national women's public policy group on Thursday blasted David Letterman's "offensive" jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter and called on the CBS late-night host to formally apologize.

"There's a saying that out of the heart, the mouth speaks, and Letterman's statement reveals a pretty ugly reflection of who Letterman may be," Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America, told FOXNews.com.

"When he said those things, they were thought through. He probably kicked them around with his writers who thought it was appropriate to say these reprehensible things."

Letterman has been under fire since he made several jokes about the Alaska governor and her daughter on his show Tuesday night, following a visit they made to New York City. In one joke, he characterized the former vice presidential candidate's style as that of a "slutty flight attendant." And in another, he joked that Palin's daughter had been "knocked up" by Yankees star Alex Rodriguez during the seventh-inning stretch of a Yankees game.

Critics jumped on Letterman soon after the show aired, accusing the comedian of making crass jokes about child rape because the girl who accompanied Palin to New York was her 14-year-old daughter, Willow, and not 18-year-old Bristol, who is the unmarried mother of Palin's first grandchild.

Letterman, on his Wednesday night show, addressed the controversy but stopped short of apologizing.

“We were, as we often do, making jokes about people in the news and we made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter, the 18-year-old girl, who is — her name is Bristol, that’s right, and so, then, now they’re upset with me," Letterman said on his Wednesday telecast.

“These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl. I mean, look at my record. It has never happened. I don’t think it’s funny. I would never think it was funny. I wouldn’t put it in a joke.”

He then invited Palin and her husband, Todd, to be his guests on his show, but Palin declined. "The Palins have no intention of providing a rating's boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show," a statement to FOXNews.com read.

On Thursday, Wright, whose group advocates biblical values and family traditions, called on Letterman to issue a "real" apology, saying his comments were "worse than" merely poor taste.

"The apology was inadequate and it was only about one of the statements," Wright said. "Letterman's very poor view of women and minor girls is very disturbing, and he certainly needs to do more to change his own attitudes and then prove that his attitude has changed."

She called on Letterman to contact Palin personally rather than address the issue on air. "He needs to reach out to Sarah Palin," she said. "Apparently he feels threatened by the fact that she's a beautiful conservative woman. He would've never said anything like that if Sarah Palin was a liberal. He needs to treat Sarah Palin with the respect and dignity she deserves."

Deborah Donovan Rice, executive director of Stop It Now, an organization aiming to prevent the sexual abuse of children, also denounced Letterman's jokes and praised Palin's response as "spot on."

"This wasn't the usual fun, creative stuff I usually see on Letterman," Rice told FOXNews.com. "This really dropped below the bar."

Outside the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York Thursday afternoon, most of the studio audience lined up for the taping of Letterman's show said they were not aware of the controversy surrounding his comments.

But audience member Ann Frechette from Tampa Bay, Fla., said Tuesday night's jokes were “very harsh, very unlike David Letterman.”

She also said that “his apology was just another joke.”

Another, Cindy Baldwin from Ogden, Utah, said "I don't think [Letterman] should make comments about anyone's daughter, whether she's 18 or 14."
***************************************************************
MY THOUGHTS:

Even when the sexist bastard makes an attempt to clarify what he meant - he didn't mean 14 year old Willow. He meant 18 year old Bristol. So that's his excuse? I guess that's as good as it gets from a disrespectful, sexist pig! He didn't even make an attempt to apologize either. He says he makes jokes about people in the news. Does he make racial jokes (or any jokes for that matter) about the Obamas? I doubt it. WHY are liberals so terrified of Governor Palin?? Calling a governor of one of our 50 states "slutty" is so WRONG on so many levels. And WHEN will the jokes STOP already? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH NOW!

JERKY DAVID LETTERMAN USES PALIN WOMEN FOR HIS FILTHY SEXIST JOKES!!!

David Letterman Slammed For Sex Jokes About Palin's Teen Daughter
Wednesday, June 10, 2009
By Allison McGevna
FOX NEWS

David Letterman is under fire for crude jokes about Palin's teenage daughter.
David Letterman is in the hot seat for several crude jokes he made on CBS' "The Late Show" about Sarah Palin and her teenage daughter.

Letterman, in his monologue Monday night, noted that the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate attended a Yankees game during a trip to New York City, where she was honored by a special needs group. Letterman referred to Palin, Alaska's governor, as having the style of a "slutty flight attendant."

The "Late Show" host also took a shot Palin's daughter, while poking fun at the Yankees' third baseman.

“One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game," Letterman said, "during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”

The backlash was almost immediate, with Palin's supporters denouncing the CBS host for making jokes that many said were sexist and for what they called an unfair attack on the governor and her family.

“I think that calling the former vice presidential candidate a slut or saying that her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez, I think everyone can agree that’s over the line,” Washington Examiner correspondent Byron York told FOX News’ Greta Von Susteren.

But an even more disturbing fact, which Letterman may not have known, was that the daughter who accompanied Palin on her trip to New York was 14-year-old Willow — not 18-year-old Bristol, the unwed mother of Palin's first grandchild.

Now, many critics — including the Palins themselves – are slamming Letterman for jokes that they say make light of sexual abuse of an underage girl.

In a statement to FOXNews.com, Palin accused Letterman of making "sexually perverted" and “inappropriate" comments that she doubted he would “ever dare make” about anyone else’s daughter.

"Acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others," she said.

Palin's husband, Todd, echoed her sentiments, telling FOXNews.com, "Any ‘jokes’ about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it, and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too."

A representative for “The Late Show” declined to offer comment for this story.

MY THOUGHTS:

I think it is despicable that Sarah Palin can not do anything or go anywhere, without being the victim of disgusting comments and/or sexist jokes. The election has been over for 7 months already and they just can't seem to leave her alone. And to include a young lady of 14 in his vulgar comments is inappropriate to say the least!! Jerks like David Letterman deserve a taste of their own medicine!

ZIEGLER SPEAKS UP FOR THE PALINS ON MSNBC - THE OBAMA LOVE FEST NETWORK.

Thanks to John Ziegler who speaks up and defends Sarah Palin, and in this case the vile, vulgar, and sexist comments made about her and especially Letterman's VULGAR so-called "joke" about Willow Palin being raped. WILL THERE EVER BE A TIME WHEN VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FUNNY? WHEN WILL SEXISM AND MISOGNY END? AND WHY FOR GODSAKE CAN'T THESE EVIL BASTARDS LEAVE SARAH PALIN AND HER FAMILY ALONE??

SARAH TALKS WITH HANNITY ABOUT OBAMA'S DISASTROUS ECONOMICS: "WE TOLD YA SO!"

SARAH DRAWS A CROWD OF 20,000 TO NEW YORK APPEARANCE!!!

Palin draws 20,000 to New York appearance
By Susan Crabtree
THE HILL

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) vowed to keep fighting the policies of Washington and its growing government solutions to the nation’s economic problems in a Saturday speech in Auburn, N.Y. celebrating the city’s Founder’s Day.

Palin was on hand to help raise money for a museum honoring William Seward, the 19th secretary of state who purchased Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million in 1867.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate drew a crowd of 20,000, who watched her lead a parade through downtown Auburn and sign a proclamation honoring Seward.

Later at a fundraiser at Seward’s estate and gardens, Palin took President Obama to task on his national security and energy policies, as well as his handling of the economic crisis.

“Alaskans get tired of hearing that Washington bureaucrats know what’s best for us so we push and we fight and we challenge decision made inside the beltway when they’re not in our country’s best interest,” she said. “And we know decisions being made lately are not in our country’s best interest.”

During the final months of the presidential contest, Palin became a leading voice among social and fiscal conservatives. Despite some media missteps, she remains popular among many on the right and is thought to be weighing a run for president in 2012. The Auburn crowd chanted “Run, Sarah Run!” as she approached the podium to speak Saturday.

Palin also highlighted her recent refusal to accept federal stimulus funds because she said they came with strings attached, in this case, “universal energy building codes.” She said her veto of the money was not a way to make a political statement, as some claimed, but “just common sense.”

“I can’t say strings attached anymore,” she said. “Now I say ropes—debt-building, binding, controlling ropes -- and bigger government that will ultimately take away our opportunities and freedoms.”

Palin’s political action committee, SarahPAC, paid for the trip. Palin’s husband, Todd, daughter Willow, as well as her sister and her son traveled with her to upstate New York. Sunday she is scheduled to be in Long Island to raise money for Independent Group Home Living, an agency for the developmentally disabled.

MY THOUGHTS:

Our Sarah is still a popular lady! And I am NOT a Conservative righty either. I am an Independent Moderate. This lady is what politicians should be. She is not corrupt. She really works FOR the people and not AGAINST them. She does not use politics as a way of lining her pockets. She is REAL. If I can't have Hillary for my president, I will gladly take Sarah and I am hoping she runs in 2012. And Sarah, next time come to NYC, OK?

'TOLD YA SO'
Mon Jun 08 2009
DRUDGE REPORT

Sarah Palin hits FOXNEWS tonight for the big 'Told Ya So' interview, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

As President Obama vows to spend the 'stimulus' faster, Governor Palin tells host Sean Hannity: 'You gotta quit digging that hole!'

MORE

HANNITY: What do you make of – look at the state of the economy now...

PALIN: Well, when you consider that the federal government is about eleven trillion dollars in debt, and we’re borrowing more to spend more.. it defies any sensible economic policy that any of us ever learned through college. It defies economy practices and principles that tell ya ‘you gotta quit digging that hole when you are in that financial hole’

Palin continues:

"America is digging a deeper hole and how are we paying for this government largesse. We’re borrowing. We’re borrowing from China and we consider that now we own sixty percent of GENERAL MOTORS – or the U.S. government does… But who is the U.S. government becoming more indebted to? It’s China. So that leads you to have to ask who is really going to own our car industry than in America."

HANNITY: You know but it goes back - It does go back a little to the campaign. I mean, ‘spread the wealth, patriotic duty…’

PALIN: Kind of a ‘we told ya so’.

HANNITY: Well, is that how you feel?

PALIN: That’s how I feel! I feel like… and I think that more and more constituents are going to open their eyes now and open their ears to hear what is really going on and realize ok… Maybe we didn’t have a good way of expressing that, or articulating that message of ‘here is what America could potentially become if we grow government to such a degree that we cannot pay for it and we have to borrow money from other countries, some countries that don’t necessarily like America.

And this many months into the new administration, quite disappointed, quite frustrated with not seeing those actions to rein in spending, slow down the growth of government. Instead Sean it is the complete opposite. It’s expanding at such a large degree that if Americans aren’t paying attention, unfortunately our country could evolve into something that we do not even recognize.

HANNITY: Socialism?

PALIN: Well, that is where we are headed. That is where we have to be blunt enough and candid enough and honest enough with Americans to let them know that if we keep going down these roads… nationalizing many of our services, our projects, our businesses, yes that is where we would head. And that is why Americans have to be paying attention. And we have to have our voices heard. And ultimately it need to be our will, the American people’s will imposed on Washington, instead of the other way around.

The interview is set to air tonight on FOXNEWS, 9 PM ET.

NOW I'M A PALIN DEMOCRAT, TOO!!

SARAH MAKES TRIP TO SENECA FALLS!!

June 05, 2009
With Palin at Seneca Falls

That's where I spent my day:

SENECA FALLS, N.Y. — Governor Sarah Palin paused Friday afternoon at the in front of a monument bearing the Declaration of Sentiments, an early feminist touchstone.

“We anticipate no small amount of ridicule,” she read, and remarked: “Some things never change.”

America’s most famous Republican elected official quietly took a commercial flight into sleepy Central New York Thursday, and spent Friday on a private tour of landmarks of early feminism Harriet Tubman’s House, the Women’s Rights National Historic Park, and the National Women’s Hall of Fame — for the low-key beginning of a week-long return to the lower 48 states and another step in the attempt to recalibrate her public image.

Palin, consumed by the media freak-show during last fall’s presidential campaign and its aftermath, is taking a deliberately low-key path, and making sure to link the visit to her responsibilities as governor.

She’s traveling with her husband, Todd, and her 14-year old daughter, Willow, as well as her sister and nephew, and the public events are deliberately focused and on a human scale. She has a single political aide, spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton, and two volunteer advance men. Her staff have scheduled no mass rallies or major addresses, and made no attempt to court the media, or even inform it of her plans, which have been announced piecemeal by the groups hosting her.

She is to participate in a march to raise money for autism research Sunday in Westchester and accept an award on Long Island for her work on behalf of people with developmental disabilities.

But as the first woman on a national Republican ticket, the party’s top grassroots star, and an obvious contender for the 2012 nomination, she’s a sought-after guest whose every move will be studied for political intent. And for, some of the buzz is too good to pass up. She’s expected to join former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani at a Yankee game. And though she riled Washington allies earlier this year by turning down an invitation to headline this week’s joint fundraiser of the House and Senate Republican campaign committees in Washington, she may now stop by the event, a source said, though Stapleton declined to comment on her schedule.

SARAH, YOU ARE RIGHT. OBAMA WANTS TO CONTROL US!!

Palin: Government wants to 'control the people'

From CNN Political Producer Peter Hamby

(CNN) – Alaska governor Sarah Palin let loose Wednesday on the Obama administration for enacting fiscal policies that "fly in the face of principles" and "defy Economics 101."

In a speech introducing Michael Reagan — the son of former President Ronald Reagan — to an audience in Anchorage, Palin warned that the government is planning to "bail out debt ridden states" so it can "get in there and control the people."

"Since when can you get out of huge national debt by creating trillions of dollars of new debt?" Palin asked. "It all really is so backwards and skewed as to sound like absolute nonsense when some of this economic policy is explained."

"We need to be aware of the creation of a fearful population, and fearful lawmakers, being led to believe that big government is the answer, to bail out the private sector, because then government gets to get in there and control it," she said. "And mark my words, this is going to be next, I fear, bail out next debt-ridden states. Then government gets to get in there and control the people."

"Some in Washington would approach our economic woes in ways that absolutely defy Economics 101, and they fly in the face of principles, providing opportunity for industrious Americans to succeed or to fail on their own accord," she said. "Those principles it makes you wonder what the heck some in Washington are trying to accomplish here."

Though the bulk of her remarks focused on government encroachment into the private sector, and praise for former President Reagan's views on limited government, the former vice presidential candidate briefly touched on national security. She told the crowd that "the terrorists are still dead set against us" and that her son Track is still deployed in Iraq.

"It is war over there, so it will not be war over here," she said. "And it had better still be our mission that we win, they lose."

She also pointed to the recent dismissal of another ethics complaint against her, one that accused the governor of having a conflict of interest for wearing a jacket to the opening of the Tesoro Iron Dog race in February that feautured the logo of the sponsor of her husband's team. Palin has been forced to set up a legal defense fund to help pay for fees related to an onslaught of ethic complaints.

Palin said of the people who have filed the complaints: "Those are the folks who want to tell me, they want to tell you, to sit down and shut up. We will not do that. I just can't, because I love my state. I love my country."
****************************************************************
MY THOUGHTS:

I could not agree with you MORE, Sarah. I, too, love my state and my country. I am terrified of what is happening to it since Obama broke into the White House. I say "broke in" since he has yet to produce his lease (BIRTH CERTIFICATE) to show his right to be there.

I also agree it does not make any sense whatsoever to solve a failing economy by SPENDING TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS more! And I also agree that OBAMA WANTS TO CONTROL PEOPLE. I AGREE HIS GIVING MONEY TO THE STATES IS ONE OF THE WAYS HE IS DOING THIS! JUST AS HIS BAILING OUT COMPANIES IS A WAY TO CONTROL THEM, TOO!

And, Sarah, I also agree that these RIDICULOUS ETHICS COMPLAINTS people are filing against you is their way of saying SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP AND GO AWAY! They are trying to scare you; to aggravate you, to frustrate you, and most of all TO DISCOURAGE YOU FROM RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012!! SARAH, DO NOT GIVE IN TO THEM!!

PLEASE RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012. YOU WILL HAVE MY VOTE!
